About Me

25 Years in HVAC. Zero Brands. 100% Neutral.

When I first walked into a mechanical room in 1999, I didn’t know I’d spend the next quarter century obsessed with one question: how to make HVAC systems work better while costing less to run.

For 17 years, I worked at Gree Electric’s Henan regional office — the world’s largest residential air conditioner manufacturer. I started with split units and grew alongside the company as they expanded into commercial HVAC: chillers, VRF systems, AHUs. I handled everything from CAD design to cost estimation, from project bidding to on-site installation management.

In 2016, I left. Not because I disliked the industry — I loved it. But because I realized something that changed how I think about this business:

“Equipment has camps. But engineering doesn’t.”

When you sell equipment, you have to pick sides. Brand politics, dealer agreements, commission structures — it all gets in the way of giving honest advice. But installation materials? System controls? Energy optimization strategies? Those are neutral. A centrifugal chiller and a screw chiller both need properly sized pipes. A Daikin VRF and a Gree VRF both benefit from smart control logic.

That’s why I created this site. Not to sell you any particular brand of equipment. But to share what I’ve learned about two things that matter regardless of whose logo is on the box:

  • Installation efficiency — the right tools, the right techniques, the right workflows that save time and money on every job.
  • System energy optimization — how to integrate controls and components so any HVAC system runs at peak efficiency, cutting operating costs for the life of the installation.

I’ve seen this industry from the inside — from a factory floor to independent project sites. I’ve installed everything from 500-ton centrifugal chillers to residential multi-split systems. And through all of it, the lesson I keep coming back to is simple: the equipment is only half the story. How you install it and how you control it determines whether it actually delivers value.

If you’re a contractor, an engineer, or a building owner looking for practical, brand-neutral HVAC knowledge — you’re in the right place.
